Background
My brother and I were born in Mission Viejo California, and moved to Oregon after my brother got diagnosed with Autism. Throughout our childhood, I helped him adjust to going to public school, helped him complete assignments at home, and helped him implement and execute behavior plans in school. This experience led me to a lifetime of educational work. Besides helping my brother Connor, I also volunteered with Autism speaks and different summer camps designed to help students with special needs.
In-Home Math Tutor- West Linn
I first got started tutoring in high school when a friend had posted on social media about how she'd jokingly "Pay someone a million dollars to teach me this math before my test Friday." I responded saying I'd do it for $20! I drove to her house the next day, she felt confident, and aced the test. Knowing I helped someone succeed in the classroom was a great feeling, and I continued this work throughout high school.
Math Tutor @ University of Oregon -Eugene
After moving to Eugene to start college, I joined the Universities Math Tutor team. Here I expanded my tutoring skills by not only delivering 1 on 1 tutoring, but also drop-in hours and homework help classes. I did this while working toward a Bachelor's degree in Math & Computer Science. I worked and studied at the University of Oregon until I took a break from college during summer of the 2020 COVID Pandemic.
Computer Science Tutor - Eugene & Remote
From my experience learning computer science at the University of Oregon, I decided to expand my tutoring experience even more by also offering Computer Science Tutoring. I worked drop-in and group classes at Code Ninjas in Eugene, and created and taught classes on Scratch remotely to students in China!
Special Education Assistant - Lake Oswego
As the pandemic began winding down, I decided to move back home to save some money. I began working as a Special Education Assistant at Hallinan Elementary School, while tutoring in my free time. This work helped me improve in my behavioral management skills, and helped expand my network of tutoring clients.
Remote Math Tutor - Eugene / Remote
After saving enough money, I moved back to Eugene for the 2024-2025 School year to finish my degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. I continued tutoring some of my clients virtually, but was mostly focused on finishing my schooling a year ahead.
STEM Teacher @ Willamette Valley Academy - Beaverton
After graduating, I worked at a Willamette Valley Academy as a STEM Teacher. Here I taught full time, teaching a variety of classes including AOPS - Introduction to Algebra, Computer Science, Math Competitions, and Science.
Mr. Tiffanys Math Tutoring - Lake Oswego
After tutoring for 10+ years, I made the choice to go all-in on tutoring. It is some of the most rewarding work I have ever done, and I am confident I can help any student reach their goals.
